  • Overview

    Summary of Duties:

    Provides security for Airlines by performing physical screening of cargo through the use various methods in an effort to prevent unauthorized items. Ensures that only authorized personnel enter the warehouse or have access to the surroundings area. Provides security to warehouse and packages/cargo which are awaiting transfer in and out of facility.


    Essential Functions:

    1. Maintain equipment in good, working condition.

    2. Reports any required maintenance or needed repairs to Lead/Supervisor.

    3. Must remain vigilant in their rounds seeking items out of place, monitoring unauthorized and authorized people entering the area, loading and unloading irregularities, and access to the facility.

    4. Required to check security badges and personal identification. Visual sharpness required verifying documents.  Ability to identify “security risk”.

    5. Uses provided equipment to screen cargo

    6. Verify accuracy of all related shipment paperwork and maintain all necessary records.

    7. May not remove any items from the warehouse at any time.

    8. Takes appropriate precautions when making inspections.

    9. Report all incidents involving unauthorized or attempts by unauthorized personnel to enter the area.

    10. Document all events on appropriate forms and give to Lead

    11. Follows all safety rules. Observes and reports any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately to their manager or proper authority.

    12. May be requested to perform other duties as assigned based on Lead’s needs or airline activity.

    1. Uses proper body mechanics while performing duties.

    2. Remain alert and aware of the surroundings.

    3. Demonstrates ability to work with others and interact appropriately.

    4. Able to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods.

    5. Possess empathetic abilities in dealing with passengers and their needs.

    6. Maintains communication with other agents and managers. Relates information regarding events or situations that may affect operations.


    Working Conditions:

    1. May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature.

    2. Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.

    3. Must be flexible to work scheduled and/or non-scheduled hours as required.
