    Job Title:                                               Service Personnel Screener 

    Supervision Required:                        Direct

    Reports To:                                           Duty Manager

    Payroll Status:                                      Hourly/Non-Exempt

    Educational Requirements:               Minimum standard established at hire

    Additional Requirements:                 Guard License




    Summary of Duties:

    Provides security for airlines to perform physical screening of service personnel through the use of hand held metal detectors. Full body pat down and carry on luggage search in an effort to prevent prohibited items or weapons from getting on board. May be required to make a physical search of aircraft interior prior to passenger boarding aircraft.


    Essential Functions:                           

    1. Maintain equipment in good, working condition such as:
      1. Hand Held Metal Detector
      2. Radio
    2. Reports any require maintenance or needed repairs to Manager.
    3. Uses hand held metal detector to screen all service personnel who approach aircraft or who access aircraft.
    4. When necessary, performs full body pat down of service personnel or physical searches of carry on items.
    5. Takes appropriate precautions when making inspections. Understands the changing definition of weapon or prohibited item as determined by the TSA.
    6. May be required to assist and work with people with disabilities.
    7. Report all incidents involving unauthorized or attempts by unauthorized personnel to enter the area.
    8. When requested, make a physical search (sweep) of aircraft prior to aircraft being boarded by passenger or flight crew.
    9. Document all events on appropriate forms and to Manager.
    10. Follow all safety rules. Observes and reports any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately to their manager or proper authority.
    11. May be requested to perform other duties as assigned based on Manager’s needs or airline activity.

    3. Demonstrates ability to work with others and interact appropriately.
    4. Able to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods.
    5. Possess empathetic abilities in dealing with passengers and their needs.
    6. Maintains communication with other agents and managers. Relates information regarding events or situations that may effect operations.

    Working Conditions:

    1. May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature.
    2. Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
    3. Must be flexible to work scheduled and/or non-scheduled hours as required.
